The Program: Introduction to Social Media
In this presentation, you'll learn how professionals are using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and blogs to network and promote their businesses. Diane will walk you through some of the basics, as well as provide tips on strategy, time management, etiquette and privacy. You can expect to learn: How to create a LinkedIn Portfolio (as opposed to a profile); the 30/30/30/10 rule for posting status updates; how to protect your privacy when using friend lists; and much more.
The Speaker
Diane Danielson is the founder and CEO of the Downtown Women’s Club, a professional network and career web site. She's the author of The Downtown Women's Club Beginner's Guide to Facebook (eBook) and co-author of The Savvy Gal’s Guide to Online Networking (or What Would Jane Austen Do?). Diane blogs for WomensDISH and Entrepreneur magazine. She also serves as a workshop leader and social media coach for companies, non-profits and individuals.
She's a former vice president of business development for Spaulding & Slye Colliers, a vice president of marketing for Meredith & Grew, Inc./ONCOR International, and an environmental attorney. Diane is a graduate of Colgate University and Boston College Law School.
